GiZMO TM Environmental Specifications
The PlayMotion Gizmo is a self-contained unit that requires only
power and network connectivity to transform any ordinary space into
a magical playground of light. The following information is provided
in order to assist you with space planning. Please call 852-23886515

DIMENSIONS:
The permanent installation GiZMO is an enclosed cube measuring approximately
50cm on a side. Support must be able to handle a 65kg load.
POWER:
Standard 3 rectangular blade plug grounded outlet, 220v AC, on a
15amp circuit (peak draw is approximately 900 watts)
NETWORK:
CAT-5 to 10/100 Ethernet LAN, fixed IP address viewable from external
internet clients with traffic open to ports 80, 81, 5900, and 5800
MOUNT:
For ceiling mount, the GiZMO is chained from hooks in the ceiling.
For outdoor/touring installations, the GiZMO is hung from just about
any available modular truss system with included clamps, or placed
atop a stable tower, pedestal or industrial lighting tripod using
our universal mounting system.
PLAY SPACE / SURFACE:
The display surface (play area) should be white or off-white, opaque,
smooth, and ideally, matte finish. High gloss surfaces such as polished
marble or glass will require us to install a matte surface for the
specific area where the playspace will appear.
LIGHT:
In order for its magic to work, the PlayMotion Gizmo relies upon
projected light, much like a movie projector in a darkend theatre.
As such, the less ambient light from other sources, the more dramatic
the effect for your guests, visitors, and fellow participants. Most
importantly, the Gizmo will not function in areas where direct sunlight
hits, so the PlaySpace should not be located near windows or skylights.
Ambient light from other local light sources (lamps, flood, etc.)
should be minimized, either via switches, dimmers, or by physically
removing bulbs.
PLAYSPACE – Wall Projection:
In order to create a standard 3M tall by 4M wide playspace, the
Gizmo will hang from the ceiling, 7.5M back from the active wall,
with no obstructions in the light path (see illustration). For large
scale theatrical presentation, we recommend installing the Gizmo
in the projection booth, where we can achieve up to a 12 meter diagonal
play surface when the unit is situated roughly 17 meters back from
the stage. The Gizmo can also be used in outdoor event scenarios
with a tower and portable wall.
